Do I Need to go to Church to be a Christian?

It is possible to be a Christian without going to church but to really have a full relationship with God you do need to have relationships with other Christians and the easiest way to develop these is to go to your local church.

If you are thinking of going to church for the first time or are considering coming back to church after a break of some years you might find the following book helpful.

Going to Church by John Pritchard (Published by SPCK Publishing, May 2009, ISBN: 9780281058105)

‘Written by the Bishop of Oxford, this is a light-hearted look at what to expect for anyone considering attending church for the first time, or considering returning after a break.’

These websites also might be of help if you are thinking about becoming a Christian:
REJesus  which explores many different aspects of Christianity
Chrstianity website which tries to answer many of the questions you may well be asking

The Church of England's faith page which explains what it means to be a follower of Jesus

Of course, if you would rather talk to someone our Vicar, Carole Lloyd can be contacted on 01773 607947 or go to our Contact form to email.
